The aim is to provide protection to the user against possible hazards during use. This document is not applicable to waterslides, rollerways or slide installations where auxiliary equipment such as mats or sledges are used. This document is not applicable to inclined surfaces that do not contain and guide the user, e.g. banister rails (inclined parallel bars).

This standard does not apply to special fittings, adaptors and compatible accessories, perforated pipes and fittings, manholes and inspection chambers and pipes and joints for pipe jacking, which are specified in other parts of the standard series EN 295. NOTE 2 Corresponding provisions for the evaluation of conformity (ITT and FPC) and sampling and those for the test methods are further specified in EN 295-2 and EN 295-3, respectively.


Vitrified clay pipe systems for drains and sewers - Part 4: Requirements for adaptors, connectors and flexible couplings

This European Standard specifies requirements for adaptors and connectors made from vitrified clay and/or other suitable materials for use with vitrified clay pipes and fittings for buried drain and sewer systems for the conveyance of wastewater (including domestic wastewater, surface water and rainwater) under gravity and periodic hydraulic surcharge or under continuous low head of pressure. Adaptors and connectors include insertable fittings, sealing rings for cut pipes and heat-shrinkable sleeves. This standard also applies for metal banded flexible couplings and adaptors and specifies requirements for rubber, polyurethane, stainless steel and other components used for them.


Vitrified clay pipe systems for drains and sewers - Part 5: Requirements for perforated pipes and fittings

This European Standard specifies requirements for perforated pipes and compatible fittings made from vitrified clay with or without sockets for use in land drains and drainage of waste tips. They are also used for percolation into the ground. This standard specifies different strength classes and areas of perforations. NOTE 1 The specifiers/purchasers can select perforated pipes and compatible fittings according to their requirements. NOTE 2 Corresponding provisions for the evaluation of conformity (ITT and FPC) and sampling and those for the test methods are further specified in EN 295-2 and EN 295-3, respectively.

Cast iron pipes and fittings, their joints and accessories for the evacuation of water from buildings - Requirements, test methods and quality assurance

This European Standard applies to cast iron pipeline components used for the construction of discharge systems for buildings and of drains, normally as gravity systems. The range of nominal sizes extends from DN 40 to DN 600 inclusive. This standrad specifies the requirements for the materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties, appearance, standard coatings for cast iron pipes, fittings and accessories. It also indicates performance requirements for all components, including joints. Quality assurance is covered in an informative annex. It covers pipes, fittings and accessories cast by anyfoundry process or manufactured by fabrication of cast components, as well as the corresponding joints.


Ductile iron pipes, fittings, accessories and their joints for gas pipelines - Requirements and test methods

This European Standard specifies the requirements and associated test methods applicable to ductile iron pipes, fittings, accessories and their joints used for the construction of pipelines outside buildings: - to convey air or combustible gases (e.g. natural gas or town gas) at pressures up to 16 bar; - to be installed below or above ground. NOTE 1 A combustible gas is a gas or any fuel that is in gaseous state at a temperature of 15 °C at a pressure of 1 bar. This European Standard applies to pipes, fittings and accessories which are: - manufactured with socketed, flanged or spigot ends; - normally delivered externally and internally coated; - suitable for gas temperatures between − 15 °C and 50 °C. This European Standard covers pipes, fittings and accessories cast by any type of foundry process or manufactured by fabrication of cast components, as well as corresponding joints, in a size range extending from DN 40 to DN 600 inclusive. This European Standard specifies requirements for materials, dimensions and tolerances,mechanical properties and standard coatings of ductile iron pipes and fittings. It also gives performance requirements for all components including joints. Joint design and gasket shape are outside the scope of this European Standard. NOTE 2 In this European Standard, all pressures are relative pressures expressed in bars (100 kPa = 1 bar).

This part of ISO/IEC 7816 specifies the power, signal structures, and the structure for the answer to reset between an integrated circuit(s) card with synchronous transmission and an interface device such as a terminal. The specifications in ISO/IEC 7816-3 apply where appropriate, unless otherwise stated here. It also covers signal rates, operating conditions, and communication with the integrated circuit(s) card. This part of ISO/IEC 7816 specifies two types of synchronous cards: type 1 and type 2.

Identification cards — Recording technique — Part 1: Embossing

This part of ISO/IEC 7811 is one of a series of International Standards describing the parameters for identification cards as defined in the definitions clause and the use of such cards for international interchange. This part of ISO/IEC 7811 specifies requirements for embossed characters on identification cards. The embossed characters are intended for transfer of data either by use of imprinters or by visual or machine reading. It takes into consideration both human and machine aspects and states minimum requirements. It is the purpose of this International Standards to provide criteria to which cards shall perform. No consideration is given within these International Standards to the amount of use, if any, experienced by the card prior to test. Failure to conform to specified criteria should be negotiated between the involved parties. ISO/IEC 10373-1 specifies the test procedures used to check cards against the parameters specified in this part of ISO/IEC 7811. NOTE 1 Numeric values in the SI and/or Imperial measurement system in this part of ISO/IEC 7811 might have been rounded off and therefore are consistent with, but not exactly equal to, each other. Either system can be used, but the two is not intended to be intermixed or reconverted. The original design was made using the Imperial measurement system. NOTE 2 TIM (Tactile Identifier Mark) defined by ISO/IEC 7811-9 can be located in the name and address area of this part of ISO/IEC 7811. The layout of embossed characters in this area is not intended to interfere with TIM.


Identification cards — Recording technique — Part 2: Magnetic stripe — Low coercivity

ISO/IEC 7811 defines the characteristics for identification cards as defined in Clause 4 of this part of ISO/IEC 7811 and the use of such cards for international interchange. This part of ISO/IEC 7811 specifies requirements for a low coercivity magnetic stripe (including any protective overlay) on an identification card, the encoding technique and coded character sets. It takes into consideration both human and machine aspects and states minimum requirements. Coercivity influences many of the quantities specified in this part of ISO/IEC 7811 but is not itself specified. ISO/IEC 7811 provides criteria to which cards are to perform. No consideration is given within ISO/IEC 7811 to the amount of use, if any, experienced by the card prior to test. Failure to conform to specified criteria is negotiated between the involved parties. Adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems for fluids under pressure - Specifications

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for adhesives used for joining the components of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-C), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and styrene copolymer blends (PVC+SAN) thermoplastic piping systems for fluids under pressure, independent of the application area.


Resilient Floor Coverings - Polyvinyl Chloride Floor Coverings on Jute Backing or on Polyester Felt Backing or on a Polyester Felt with a Polyvinyl Chloride Backing - Specification

This European Standard specifies the characteristics of floor coverings based on polyvinyl chloride and modifications thereof, on jute or polyester backing or on polyester felt with polyvinyl chloride backing, supplied in either tile or roll form. To encourage the consumer to make an informed choice the standard includes a classification system (see EN 685) based on intensity of use, which shows where these floor coverings should give satisfactory service. It also specifies requirements for marking.


Resilient floor coverings - Specification for Floor Panels for Loose Laying

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for floor panels, which have surface layers consisting of resilient floor covering. The floor panels are considered suitable for domestic and commercial levels of use. This European Standard is not applicable to floor panels that are subject to frequent wetting, such as bathrooms, laundry rooms and saunas. This European Standard also specifies the requirements for marking and packaging.


Resilient floor coverings - Floor coverings based upon synthetic thermoplastic polymers - Specification

This European Standard specifies the characteristics for resilient floor coverings based upon synthetic thermoplastic polymers, supplied either in roll or tile form. This specification does not apply to floor coverings specified in the series EN 649 to EN 654.

The term 'linoleum' is frequently incorrectly applied to a range of floor coverings, often to those based on poly(vinyl chloride) or rubber. Such materials are not included in this International Standard.

Driers for Paints and Varnishes

This document specifies the requirements and the corresponding test methods for driers for paints, varnishes and related products. It applies to driers in the solid or liquid form. It does not apply to emulsifiable driers.


Paints, Varnishes and Raw Materials for Paints and Varnishes — Sampling

ISO 15528:2013 specifies procedures for the sampling of paints, varnishes and raw materials used in their manufacture. Such products include liquids and materials which, without undergoing chemical modification, are capable of being liquefied when heated up, and powdered, granulated and pasty materials. Samples may be taken from containers, e.g. cans, drums, tanks, tank wagons or ships' tanks, as well as from barrels, sacks, big-bags, silos or silo wagons, or from conveyor belts. ISO 15528:2013 does not deal with the sample preparation for testing or reduction of the samples thus taken. This is dealt with in ISO 1513.


Petroleum and Liquid Petroleum Products — Calibration of Vertical Cylindrical Tanks — Part 1: Strapping Method

Applies to tanks with cylindrical courses that are substantially vertical. Provides a method suitable for use as a working method, a reference method or a referee method for measuring a tank using a steel strapping tape. The operation of strapping, the corrections to be made and the calculations leading to the compilation of the tank capacity table are described. For tilted tanks with a deviation of up to 3 % from the vertical a correction may be applied that is described.


Petroleum and Liquid Petroleum Products — Calibration of Vertical Cylindrical Tanks — Part 2: Optical Reference-Line Method

Applies to tanks above 8 m in diameter with cylindrical courses that are substantially vertical. Provides a method for determining the volumetric quantity contained within a tank at gauged liquid levels using an optical plummet. The measurement required to determine the circumference may be made internally or externally. For tilted tanks with a deviation of up to 3 % from the vertical a correction as described in ISO 7507-1 may be applied.


Petroleum and Liquid Petroleum Products — Calibration of Vertical Cylindrical Tanks — Part 3: Optical-Triangulation Method

Applies to tanks above 8 m in diameter with cylindrical courses that are substantially vertical. Provides a method for determining the volumetric quantity contained within a tank at gauged liquid levels by optical triangulation using theodolites and laser beams. The measurement required to determine the radius may be made internally or externally. The external method is applicable only to tanks that are free of insulation. For tilted tanks with a deviation of up to 3 % from the vertical a correction as described in ISO 7507-1 may be applied.


Petroleum and Liquid Petroleum Products — Calibration of Vertical Cylindrical Tanks — Part 4: Internal Electro-Optical Distance-Ranging Method

ISO 7507-4:2010 specifies a method for the calibration of vertical cylindrical tanks having diameters greater than 5 m by means of internal measurements using an electro-optical distance-ranging (EODR) instrument, and for the subsequent compilation of tank capacity tables. ISO 7507-4:2010 is suitable for tanks tilted up to a 3 % deviation from the vertical, provided that a correction is applied for the measured tilt as described in ISO 7507-1:2003, Clause 11. ISO 7507-4:2010 also applies to tanks with floating roofs or internal floating blankets.


Petroleum and Liquid Petroleum Products — Calibration of Vertical Cylindrical Tanks — Part 5: External Electro-Optical Distance-Ranging Method

This part of ISO 7507 specifies a method for the calibration of non-insulated vertical cylindrical tanks having diameters greater than 5 m, by means of external measurement using an electro-optical distance-ranging method (EODR), and for the subsequent compilation of tank capacity tables.This part of ISO 7507 is applicable to tanks with cone-up or cone-down bottoms as well as to tanks with flat bottoms. This title may contain less than 24 pages of technical content.

It includes only those abbreviated terms that have come into established use and its aim is both to prevent the occurrence of more than one abbreviated term for a given plastic and to prevent a given abbreviated term being interpreted in more than one way. Plastics — Symbols and Abbreviated Terms — Part 2: Fillers and Reinforcing Materials

ISO 1043-2:2011 specifies uniform symbols for terms referring to fillers and reinforcing materials. It includes only those symbols that have come into established use, and its main aim is both to prevent the occurrence of more than one symbol for a given filler or reinforcing material and to prevent a given symbol being interpreted in more than one way.


LPG equipment and accessories - Equipping of LPG road tankers

This European Standard specifies equipment and accessories for road tankers used for the transport of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and identifies the equipment that is considered necessary to ensure that filling, transportation and discharge operations can be carried out safely. It specifies the requirements for the assembly of the accessories and the vehicle LPG equipment to the road tanker. This European Standard also identifies additional equipment and accessories that can be used on road tankers carrying LPG. This European Standard does not preclude the use of alternative designs, materials and equipment testing which provide the same or a higher level of safety. ADR [9] requires that such alternative technical codes be recognised by the competent authority, provided that the minimum requirements of section 6.8.2 of ADR [9] are complied with. This European Standard does not apply to “tank-containers” or “battery-vehicles” used for the transport of LPG.


LPG equipment and accessories - Welded steel pressure vessels for LPG road tankers - Design and manufacture

This European Standard specifies minimum requirements for materials, design, construction and workmanship procedures, and tests for welded LPG road tanker pressure vessels and their welded attachments manufactured from carbon, carbon/manganese and micro alloy steels. There is no upper size limit as this is determined by the gross vehicle weight limitation. This European Standard does not cover pressure vessels for pressure vessel containers. NOTE 1 In the context of this standard the term "road tanker" is understood to mean “fixed tanks” and “demountable tanks” as defined in ADR. NOTE 2 The equipment for the pressure vessels and the inspection and testing after assembly is covered by EN 12252 and EN 14334, respectively. NOTE 3 The design type of the road tanker is subject to approval by the competent authority, as required by ADR.


Tanks for the transport of dangerous goods - Metallic pressure tanks - Design and construction

This European Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design and construction of metallic pressure tanks having a maximum working or test pressure exceeding 50 kPa (0,5 bar), for the transport of dangerous goods by road and rail and sea. This European Standard includes requirements for openings, closures and structural equipment; it does not cover requirements of service equipment. For tanks for the transport of cryogenic liquids, EN 13530-1 and EN 13530-2 apply. NOTE 1 Design and construction of pressure tanks according to the scope of this European Standard are primarily subject to the requirements of RID/ADR, 6.8.2.1, 6.8.3.1 and 6.8.5, as relevant. In addition, the relevant requirements of RID/ADR, columns 12 and 13 of Table A to chapter 3.2, 4.3 and 6.8.2.4 apply. For the structural equipment subsections 6.8.2.2 and 6.8.3.2 apply, as relevant. The definitions of RID/ADR 1.2.1 are referred to. For portable tanks see also Chapter 4.2 and Sections 6.7.2 and 6.7.3 of RID and ADR. In addition, the relevant requirements of RID/ADR, columns 10 and 11 of Table A to Chapter 3.2, 4.2, 6.7.2 and 6.7.3 apply. The paragraph numbers above relate to the 2013 issue of RID/ADR which are subject to regular revisions. This can lead to temporary non-compliances with EN 14025. It is important to know that requirements of RID/ADR take precedence over any clause of this standard. NOTE 2 This standard is applicable to liquefied gases including LPG, however for a dedicated LPG standard see EN 12493. If not otherwise specified, provisions which take up the whole width of the page apply to all kind of tanks. Provisions contained in a single column apply only to: - road and rail pressure tanks according to RID/ADR chapter 6.8 (left-hand column); - portable tanks according to RID/ADR chapter 6.7 (right-hand column).
